Siphesihle Ndaba is known popularly as Mazet on one of Mzansi’s most-watched soapies, Gomora. She has grown so much in the entertainment industry, and her versatility is proof of this. I am sure all of us have seen her face on a Nivea billboard somewhere in this country.
Siphesihle might have it all now, but growing up, she didn’t have it so easy. She worked extremely hard to get to where she is at. She grew up in Mofolo, Soweto. A single mother raised her along with her two brothers. She admitted that they never had it easy financially, but her mom was a very resilient woman who always ensured they had everything they needed.
But one thing people have certainly blown out of proportion about her is that she is related to Oprah Winfrey. Siphesihle is not related to Oprah, but she went to Oprah’s school, Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy. She says the school has undoubtedly shaped her into what she is today; they push you to do more and be confident in your reality. She attended this school from Grade 10 to Matric, and she matriculated top of her class. This has shaped her to have confidence and enthusiasm to work with a big brand like Nivea.
She is currently on her first significant partnership. Her partnership with Nivea is one we certainly never saw coming, but she is what the brand was lacking all along. She brings along her authenticity and realness, which is what the brand needs. She uses her fame to push her brand even further and is doing so well for herself. I suspect Nivea isn’t letting this one go any time soon.
Siphesihle seems to be enjoying this ride with Nivea; she is constantly pushing the brand on all the social media platforms, and it is undoubtedly giving “black child it’s possible”.The young actress worked herself from literally nothing to the top, and now she is on billboards. She inspires so many young girls out here.
