In Pictures: Former Uzalo actress ‘Sphilile’ Tee Xaba’s expensive lifestyle
Tee Xaba played the role of Sphilile on SABC 1 soapie Uzalo. She appeared on Uzalo when Gabisile was looking for a potential daughter-in-law, a wife for his son Sbonelo, a medical doctor.
Destined to disrupt the status quo, Sphilile managed to win her then mother in law’s heart and married Sbonelo. Their marriage failed the test of time as Sbonelo was in love and married to Nonka. Sphilile was his mother’s choice since she came from a decent family and was soft-spoken.
Former My Kitchen Rules and Idols SA contestant Tee Xaba is a Drama graduate from the University of KwaZulu Natal and a full-time radio jockey on KZN based East Coast Radio. She begged the Uzalo role by coincidence; Tee Xaba revealed that she was auditioning for a different role and subsequently offered the Sphilile character on Uzalo.
“The Uzalo role was purely accidental, I was auditioning for a different role, and the showrunners saw a fit with the Sphilile role.”
Ever since leaving Uzalo, Tee Xaba has focused on her career as a radio presenter and Lifestyle Content creator. She owns a lifestyle YouTube channel named Tee Xaba, where she posts lifestyle videos, mainly food and nutrition. She complements her income by advertising products on her social media accounts; she recently bagged a deal with top designer label Versace to promote their perfume range. Unlike the Sphilile character on Uzalo, who fought for Sbonelo, Tee Xaba recently wedded her longtime boyfriend and threw a traditional Zulu wedding ceremony.
Through the look of things, she bumped into riches through her husband and now lives a lavish and expensive lifestyle. Holidays, designer clothes, cars and random gifts, she flaunts everything on social media.
Tee Xaba’s husband is a businessman with an interest in construction and travel tourism. Sis is living large and we hope to her on our screens soon.
