Zodwa is a ghetto girl originally from Soweto. She has a poor background and often spoke about fighting for food to survive. Her mother died when she was just eleven years old, leaving her grandmother to look after her. Zodwa’s’ father was never in the picture. However, after 29 years since her parents died, Zodwa Wabantu has achieved a lot through her career.
Zodwa was forced to leave home at the age of sixteen and had to fend for herself with odd jobs, including work as a nightclub dancer. Zodwa moved to Durban after getting an offer to work at a debt collection company. She did not give up on the nightlife and continued to dance at shisanyamas in Durban’s townships, where she earned her Vosho Queen title.

Unlike other orphans who became miserable after losing their dear parents, Zodzwa has to work hard to better her lifestyle. Well, it looks like her charm is working, for she now has three successful companies under her name. She has a mortuary and funeral service company, perfume brand company and a hair salon.
Besides her business empires, she is also a Mazda Brand Ambassador. Zodzwa is living an expensive and luxurious life; she is currently driving a Lamborghini. The celebrity is a single mother of one son. It’s so sad that her only grandmother that looked after the Zodwa when her parents died, is also late.
