No doubt she has the plug and the bling too. We can all agree that Imbewu wouldn’t be the same without her on our screens. Leleti Khumalo is a seasoned South African actress best known for her Sarafina role. Currently, she is nailing it as MaZulu on etv’s hit soapie Imbewu: The Seed.
Her career spans decades, and she has managed to cap it with accolades along the way. She is one of the most celebrated star actresses not only in Mzansi but the world at large. The seasoned actress has become a reckoning force in the entertainment industry, not only in Mzansi but the world at large.
She is best remembered for her stellar performances on Sarafina, Hotel Rwanda, Invictus, and Yesterday. However, apart from acting, the Khumalo doubles as a radio personality and musician.
Just like those before her, Khumalo was thrust into the limelight came whilst she was young. She found her feet in the entertainment industry after she joined a youth dance group, Amajika. She was under the watch of Tu Nokwe. At the age of 15, she made all sorts of headlines after being drafted into the Sarafina cast.

Well, in 2004 she starred in Hotel Rwanda and Yesterday; the latter. In 2005, Yesterday was nominated for a 2005 Academy Award in the “Best Foreign Language Film” category.
The very same year, she joined the cast of Generations as Busiswe (Busi) Dlomo. In 2015 Khumalo joined the cast of Uzalo and played Zandile “MaNzuza” Mdletshe. The role marked her first on-screen appearance after a two-year hiatus from acting to raise her children.
From then she joined many drama series. However, currently, she is nailing her MaZulu role on etv’s drama series Imbewu: The Seed. With her successful illustrious career spanning decades, one would probably wonder how much Leleti Khumalo racks in. No doubt that the veteran actress is one of the most paid actors in Mzansi and Africa at large.
Currently, Khumalo is amongst the highest soapie earners. Rumour has it that the star actress take-home salary is between R95 000 and R120 000 per month, depending on scenes.
