Primary school in Actonville overwhelmed by covid-19 cases
Pioneer primary School in Actonville Gauteng is heavily affected by covid-19 cases. Reports say eight teachers and the principal have tested positive. Fears of a 3rd and deadly wave of the virus seem to have captured many people in Benoni.
The public is now concerned about the health of their children and other teachers but it is reported that the district does not want to close down the school. Members of the public are not entirely happy with the situation but some think the school should not close at all. A certain population is worried with the way teachers are being treated.
Here are the various opinions from the concerned public:
The school should close for two days only
So sad that teachers don’t matter in this country.. leaders got vaccine while working at home
For how long do you want the school to close, after it has been cleansed and fumigated? Those who have tested may quarantine themselves at home.
The problem lies with the teachers…they are professional to be allowed to be treated like this. Sometimes to be a vessel.

President Cyril Ramaphosa called for a family meeting to discuss the lockdown regulations after a spike in covid-19 cases. This resulted in South Africa moving to level 2 lockdown.
“It is only a matter of time that the entire country reaches the third wave,” he said. Over the last seven days, we have seen an average of 3,745 daily new infections. This is an increase of 31 per cent on the previous week and an increase of 66 per cent on the week before that.
“The proportion of Covid-19 tests that are positive has more than doubled in the last month from around 4 per cent to more than 11 per cent, even as we have increased testing across the country. We are advised that a positivity rate of over 5 per cent is a cause for concern,” the president addressed.
President Ramaphosa announced that curfew will be imposed from 11pm to 4am. Gathering will be limited to a hundred people indoors and 250 people outdoors. Bars and Restaurants are now closing at 10pm nationwide.
