Zimbabwe covid-19 cases have risen to 18 according to the Ministry of Health. The Ministry informed the public through a daily circular.

The Ministry would lace to advise the nation that one of the cases was confirmed as recovered after testing negative for COVID- 19 on two samples collected at least 24 hours apart. According to World Health Organisation guidelines. patients with mild continued COVID-19 who are cared for at home, must test negative twice, on samples collected at least 24 hours apart, before they are released from home isolation The Ministry, continues to be on HIGH alert to the COVID-19 pandemic and would like to remind the nation that the most effective ways to protect yourself and others against COVID-I9 are to practice good personal hygiene and exercise social distancing. When you use a mask cover your mouth and nose, and make sure that there are no gaps between your face and the mask. Avoid touching the mask while using it, if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based sanitiser or soap and water. If masks are not tied correctly, they can be a source of infection.

Zimbabwe is currently under a 21 day lockdown as one of the measures to reduce the increase of covid-19 cases. The lockdown has also brought new challenges such as hunger for and lack of basics for the working population and the informal sector who are not generating revenue.
