Cases of robberies keep trending and this is attributed to various causes with poverty being the most pushing factor. It is therefore encouraged that if anyone deals with large amounts of money and gold then they should be surrounded by security officers or at least people they trust.
Earlier today the Police confirmed that a total of 27 220 people have been arrested on operation “Chikorokoza Ngachipere/Isitsheketsha Kasiphele and No to Machete Gangs”. The police encourages members of the public to adhere to all mining laws to promote safety and security in mining areas.
The Machete Gangs have been terrorising mining areas especially in Shurugwi. After the cases of attacks by the Machete Gangs the police were forced to introduce the operation. Another case of robbery is under investigation. Eight suspects are said to have pounced on a guard at Gateway High School in Harare. The armed robbers blasted an office safe and went away with USD$250 000.
The eight suspects are still hiding but the law enforcers are positive they will catch these thieves soon.
