Angry mob thoroughly disciplines a man attempting to rape an 8 year old girl
In Warren Park 1, Harare yesterday, a man was thoroughly beaten by a fuming mob after he was caught allegedly trying to rape an eight year old and the mother. The suspect Andrew Moyo aged 32 particularly known as Bruvhosi was seen by residents forcing the victims to sleep with him.
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirms the incident. He also adds that the suspect is set to appear in court on charges of attempted rape.
“The eight year old girl was sent to buy airtime by her mother and Andrew Moyo started following her. When Moyo arrived at the residence of the little girl he started attacking the mother. He then tried to overpower the mother then went for the little girl. Hearing the noise the mob got to the scene and the suspect met instant justice,” says Assistant Nyathi.
Warren Park 1 police officers had to hurry to the scene to arbitrate as the suspect was fatally assaulted by the furious crowd.
“We saw him loitering up and down the road and we got suspicious and a bit worried. Later on, I heard the child screaming and rushed to see what could be happening only to find the rapist over the little girl with no pants on,” says one witness.

Reporting to HMetro, Collins Mwase one of the locals says that the suspect is a stranger to the area and his actions were unusual.
“Andrew Moyo stays far from here and a lot were surprised to see him loitering in their neighbourhood. Rumours say he sometimes loses his mind but that is not an excuse. We want to see him rotting in prison,” Mwale says.
Mr Moyo father to the suspect tells HMetro that Andrew has been taking illegal drugs and these are to blame for his actions. Of-late Andrew’s father has been receiving calls over his son’s wild behaviour and he strongly suspects the drugs.
