Eastern Cape Principal lowers 11 year pupil into a pit latrine to retrieve his cellphone
An Eastern Cape principal is facing an attempted murder charge and is currently under suspension after lowering a pupil into a pit latrine. In a bid to retrieve his cellphone, the 49 year old principal lured an 11 year old at his school with 200 Rand. The grade 4 student who lost his mother in 2018 attracted by the offer ended up going home smelling of human faeces.
The boy’s grandmother brings the issue to light after her grandson had to duck a number of bullies at school. Another concerned community member records the incident and posts it on social media. In the video, the man explains the proceedings.
Eastern Cape Principal lowers 11 year pupil into a pit latrine
A principal at a school in our area takes an 11 year old pupil during break time after the principal dropped his phone into the latrine. After breaking the structure around the pit latrine, ties the boy with a rope and lowers him into the pit. He then orders pupils older than the boy to come with buckets so as to empty the contents of the pit latrine.
The boy is handed gloves that pass just above his wrist and is ordered to undress. Disgusted by the mess in the latrine, the principal orders older pupils to monitor the rope while the 11 year old was inside. The contents of the latrine went up all the way to his shoulders to which he fails to retrieve the smartphone.
Following this report, the principal appears at the Nqanqathu facing charges of attempted murder. Currently under suspension, South Africans are not happy about the principal’s recklessness. Schools have just opened after a total lockdown. It is worrying that during a pandemic when teachers are suppose to lookout for pupils’ cleanliness, a principal puts a student in grave danger.
