After the lockdown regulations were eased, vendors have the chance to sell given they adhere to the WHO guidelines. However, in Harare most vendors seem to be selling body enhancing drugs. This is a new market that young girls mostly have resorted to so that they maintain the social status of today.
Wherever you go people seem to be taking much interest in a girl’s body especially the complexion and structure. We have seen many famous people or role models per say changing their complexion to suit the social media demands and enhancing their body parts to attract more followers.
This behavior of bleaching and enhancing body parts has been popular in the Western countries for some time but it is even more popular closer to home. Some South African socialites have resorted to bleaching and it has worked for them in attracting more followers and getting more money along the way.
Although the illegal enhancing drugs are said to have horrible side effects, this has not stopped people from acquiring them and using them. Whether n TV or in school it always the lady with the biggest buttocks or the yellowbone. This has affected darker and less thick girls. This has resulted in the growth of the market.

Social media has brought about a lot of consequences despite the great invention that has kept the world connected. One of the consequences is the stereotype that a sexy lady is defined by the biggest buttocks and bleached skin.
Commenting to the pictures of the enhancement drugs being sold in the public, some seem to be hurt by the extent of this behavior. Taking to Twitter some say
“I never thought this would happen in Zimbabwe but then it is what it is.”
“This pains me a lot.”
“Selling their illegal drugs on a public space means they are ready for whatever.”
Despite the economic hardships illegal drugs have serious side effects and these girls and boys should be made aware of such. Dark, light, fleshy, lean every human is beautiful in their own way. Some think our role models are leading with the bad example hence pressuring the youths of today
