Soul Jah Love conferred Liberation Hero Status by ZANU-PF
The Zimbabwe Sensation Zimdancehall artist Soul Jah Love has been conferred the Liberation Hero Status by ZANU-PF. It means that his funeral will be state funded. In the letter conferring the status, Soul Jah Love is referred to as Comrade meaning his outstanding influence on the youths of Zimbabwe is greatly recognised.
This is all based on the National Heroes Act which states that,
“Where the President considers that any deceased person who was a citizen of Zimbabwe has deserved well of his country on account of outstanding, distinctive and distinguished service to Zimbabwe, he may designate such a person as a national, provincial or district hero of Zimbabwe.”
Certainly Soul Jah Love was outstanding in entertaining the youths of Zimbabwe from 2012 up to date. He also exceptionally represented the so called Ghetto Youths. Saul Musaka’s impact is noticed by the wide condolences sent by various organisations in Zimbabwe. These include ZESA, TRACE Africa, Banks, Government Ministries and other celebrities all over Zimbabwe.
Soul Jah Love died on the 16th of February at Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Harare. The Zimdancehall artist had been battling diabetes for a long time. His illness was at an advanced stage that required insulin injections to control his sugar levels. Saul became seriously ill on 12 February while at his house in Harare.

Soul Jah Love was once married to Bounty Lisa a fellow Zimdancehall artist. The two split after Saul assaulted his wife. Soul Jah Love’s life was full of controversy but no doubt that made his music even more interesting. In 2019 the Zimdancehall artist turned his life around and was more concerned with being a better man.
Soul Jah Love’s up bringing is painful as he always mentioned in his songs. He lost his mother when he was only 1 year old. By the time the artist was fifteen years old he had already his closest relatives including his grandmother and twin brother. At age 16 Chibaba was staying in the streets after his step mother had evicted him from their house.
