The Gweru district task force managing covid-19 pandemic in the province has set up a temporary isolation centre for covid-19 patients.
Zimbabweans were shocked to see the pictures of the facility. Here are some of the comments:
The shelter is made up of tents and a few beds. There are not any medical equipment to be seen around the temporary facility as required by WHO standards.
The government spokesperson hit back at the critics telling them to get used to the Zimbabwean way of doing things. Nick Mnagwana said, “Focus on your own context. You want a Chinese or British or South African Isolation centre then you are probably in the wrong country. Their circumstances are different from ours so you will get one which is contextual to us. Wotojaira. Focus on your home not zvepanext door. Stay at home mate. That’s all that matters. The rest are just emotions divorced from reality. Reality is you should stay at home and never get to use one of these makeshift places.”
