Limpopo based music star King Monada has finally made peace with former Thobela FM presenter, Kwenisto Makgakga.
The resolution to shake hands and be friends again was inspired by political enemies Jacob Zuma and Julius Malema who decided to have tea together having fought fiercely before Zuma was forced to leave the presidency.
The bad blood between the two started way back in 2018 when Kwenisto was accused of sabotaging King Monada’s Malwedhe to make sure the song didn’t win the radio station’s Song of the Year competition.
Master KG’s Skeleton move ended up getting the award, despite Malwedhe being the original winner, according to rumours.
Kwenisto and his then producer Alpheus “Di Boeli” Mailula were fingered as the culprits who tempered with the results to subotage King Monada.
Kwenisto said he took life lessons from the meeting between EFF leader and former ANC President Jacob Zuma’s tea meeting and decided it was time to meed King Monada to make peace.
The pair met and sorted their issues out on Sunday. Kwenisto said he is over the moon over the meeting.
“Saying I’m happy would be an understatement. I’m over the moon,” Kwenisto said.
The former Thobela FM presenter said they spoke about the issue and ironed out everything.
Kwenisto said tears were shed as the two went deeper into the conversation over the rumours that caused tension between the two.
“Besides being inspired by former president Zuma and Mr Malema’s meeting, I had always wanted to do this,” he said.
The media personality said he doesn’t like tension and it is the primary reason he reached out to King Monada.
The Malwedhe hitmaker’s manager whose name he chants in his songs Albert Makwela said they agreed to meet Kwenisto as they had nothing against him. He said they never accused him of robbing Monada but it was the fans that had problems with him.
“We had nothing against Kwenisto. It’s our fans that had a problem and accused him of robbing Monada. We agreed to meet with him because we never accused him of anything,” Makwela said.
Makwela said they are all from Limpopo and they cannot hold grudges against one another.
