One of South Africa’s favourites is set to return to our screens in the near future. Moshidi Motshegwa was seen on set of an upcoming show whose details are yet to be communicated.
Moshidi Motshegwa’s departure on The River in 2019 was met with a cry from fans who enjoyed her performances. The actress left a gap on our screens that only she could fulfill. However, the actress is set to make a come back with an appearance on an upcoming telenovela. While the name of the telenovela and her role has not yet been published, it’s safe to get excited to welcome the actress back on to our screens.
Moshidi Motshedwa is known for her role in Black Sails as The Maroon Queen and on ER as Céline. She also played Malefu on The River. Regardless of her role, Moshidi Motshegwa always gives an award winning performance.
However, the actress has never been shy to withhold her very controversial opinions. She has been known to call out script writers for scripts she considers poor. Moshidi has been referred to as a diva a number of times. Her one very public fight was with Larona Moagi, who plays Tumi on The River, who she claimed was a terrible actress.

The debacle saw Larona’s family try to intercede between the two. Ultimately Moshidi Motshegwa left the telenovela. Regarding the conflict with Larona, the actress said, “It was very difficult to work with Larona. We can’t cast people from Instagram, give them a huge role and not give them support. Moshidi continued to add:”I even said at the meeting(with producers) that Larona is struggling because she is not an actress and has been given a huge role to play. This is a craft. It is a skill.”
