Twitter user seeks popularity by threatening elite figures with fake sex tapes
A social media user is seeking popularity on twitter by threatening elite figures in Zimbabwe with fake sex tapes.
Yesterday a user with the name Maita Murozvi posted on twitter saying,
“I have this sex tape feat. @Lee_Ann aka Lee Ann Bennard. Dropping it at exactly 2000hrs. Don’t sleep on the streets.”
Lee Ann Bernard is a popular ZBC News Anchor. She is popularly known for her beauty. Lee Ann Bernard and her sister run WINCONBRANDS named after Bernard’s three children. She won the Best News Anchor award at the SADC Success Awards in 2020.
She also is an activist against Gender based violence. Lee Ann spoke publicly out about her abusive marriage.
Knowing that people would follow his page Maita Murozvi posted a fake video trying to shame Lee Ann Bernard. Still seeking popularity, this user posted today saying,
“Pane nyama yatiri kukupai very soon. Ino shashanjra maziso. The main actor @nickmangwana and an unknown lady. #dontsleeponthestreets.”
People are using social media for the wrong things and damaging someone’s reputation just for the likes seems like a way some are taking.
Other users are not happy by such behaviour commenting on Maita Murozvi’s posts saying,
“you’re after followers using someone’s name that’s not the lady you mentioned on that video”
“You’re an idiot”
