Uzalo Kicks Off 2021 On A High Note With A New Storyline For Season 5
Uzalo has enjoyed its own share of fame in recent years due to its masterclass acting but of late it has received widespread criticism due to its boring and recurring storyline.
As the country’s most-watched telenovela, Uzalo is often faced with the pressure of being on top of their game. If anything, their storyline has to be very exciting to keep their millions of viewers and also rope in a newer audience.
Many people have expressed how disappointed they are of Uzalo’s constant repetition of storylines making it less exciting.
And as if that’s not enough Gomora has pilled on the pressure on Uzalo since it is gaining more viewers than any other soapies. On the other hand, Durban Gen fired shots and poses as a threat in the long run as it made history when it became the first soapie to reach the 2 million viewership mark only two months after its launch.
Uzalo Kicks Off 2021 On A High Note With A New Storyline For Season 5
Following the SABC’s cautionary advice to the production team, they have decided to pull their socks up. One of the main actors who has been with the show for 4 seasons Masoja Msiza who plays Nkunzebomvu Mhlongo, told Daily Sun that the show’s storyline has been tweaked for season 5.
The cast has returned to work and filming has resumed, so when they were handed their scripts, a sense of joy was instilled in them.
The new storyline comes in the wake of the shocking exit of Uzalo firebrand Dawn Thandeka King. Award-winning-actress Dawn Thandeka King is no longer going to be a part of the new and improved Uzalo. The show is currently shooting season 5 so Dawn’s long stay with the show has come to an abrupt end after 4 seasons with them.
She has left the telenovela to pursue another leading role in a new show called Diepslot which is produced by Black Brain Pictures. The name will, however, change as the premiere nears.
