Sipho Mbele was born on the 12^th of January 1970 making him 50 years old this year. He was born in Bethal, Mpumalanga but his family moved during his childhood to Boekenhouthoek, Nkangala so that is where he grew up.

Sipho Mbele’s introduction into the entertainment industry in radio and today he has 20 years of experience and still has slot on Sunday afternoon on KCRS FM. Mbele’s first appearance was as a court clerk in “Muvhango” in 2007. Since then he has made guest appearances in a number of shows including “Jacob’s Cross” where he played a bodyguard, “Soul City” as a criminal business man in 2008 and 2010 respectively.  In “Mtunzini.com” Mbele played a husband who committed suicide in 2009. Sipho finally bagged the recurring role of Donald Mahlangu in e.tv’s “Scandal!” His first appearance as this character was on the 28^th of March 2017. In the same year Mbele landed another recurring role in Mzansi Magic’s “The Queen” as ‘Robbie’ with his first appearance airing on the 28^th of December.

In 2018 Sipho Mbele was cast in his first starring role as ‘Masweswe’ in SABC 1’s drama series “iKani”. The story is centred around a young artist who finds out that she is from an isiNdebele family, having been raised by her aunt as a Zulu. The following year brought him the role of ‘Mr Mbhense’ in “Makoti”, another recurring role in the SABC 1 comedy-drama with his first airing on the 28^th of August 2019.

In 2020 we see Sipho Mbele playing ‘Ngwazi Mahlangu’ in “Vutha”, a recurring role in SABC 2’s new medical drama.

Mbele began writing in 2014 with his first book “Take It From Me: A Man’s Perspective” released in 2016. He expanded the “A Man’s Perspective” with his second book “What’s Your Problem: A Man’s Perspective” in 2017. In February 2018 Sipho released the third book “God and Love: A Man’s Perspective”

Personal Life and Divorce

Sipho Mbele keeps his private life out of the public but what we do know is that he is a divorcee. He has opened up about his divorce. Mbele said the process was difficult because he had to adjust his lifestyle as well as the lifestyle of his children since things got difficult financially. He says that what made it worse was the he and his ex-wife were co-owners of the same company. Sipho seems to be happy now that he has a new role as ‘Ngwazi Mahlangu’ on “Vutha”
