Chinese Billionaire’s coronavirus donations have arrived in Zimbabwe. The consignment of testing kits and protective clothing arrived at Robert Mugabe International airport.
The donation was received by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade deputy minister David Musabayana. The goods were handed over by Ethiopian Embassy counselor Mr Golija Siba Korra at RGM International.
Jack Ma made the donation to all African countries and urged them to prepare for the worst to come. The donation will be followed by other donations by the Chinese Billionaire.

Jack Ma is a Chinese businessman and philanthropist. He founded Alibaba, the largest online marketplace in China. He used to be the CEO and Chairman of the company until he retired to give other leader a chance to stir the company forward. Jack Ma is passionate about assisting Africa. He has funded many entrepreneurial programmes across Africa.
Impact of Jack Ma’s donation to Zimbabwe
Jack Ma’s donation will go a long way in assisting Zimbabwe to timely run Coronavirus tests. Before the donation, Zimbabwe was relying on limited test kits. As revealed by the brother of the second coronavirus victim Zororo Makamba who passed on yesterday, Wilkins hospital had to wait until they received all results from all provinces in Zimbabwe before it could run tests. Zororo had to wait for 18 hours to get results of the tests.
Government of Zimbabwe not prepared for coronavirus
The government was not prepared for coronavirus cases. Currently, the death rate in Zimbabwe is 50% which is considered too high given the hardest hit country Italy has a death rate of 8%. The second coronavirus patient in Zimbabwe was even asked to buy his own ventilators or to source their own ICU equipment.
