President Mnangagwa is set to address thousands of people in Nyanga just a a day after he banned gathering of people above 100.
He had gone to commission an irrigation scheme which was built in 1985 through a joint partnership between Zimbabwe and Japan, has a total of 761ha, benefiting about 1200 households.The scheme was affected by floods in 2006, and was rehabilitated and expanded between 2016 and 2019.
Government Ministers available are resent are Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, Agriculture Minister Perrance Shiri and Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba.
State Media Reports that the President will go to Bumhira Secondary School at Nyamaropa will address thousands of people already gathered.
About the ban
Citizens hoped that the President that he observe the new measure that he announced yesterday. The President has announced that gatherings of people more than 100 will be prohibited from 20 March 2020. Addressing thousands is likely to have a negative impact on people’s perception towards the directive.
