Early Life and Education
Dr Malinga was the eldest in a family of four children. He attended Bokamoso high School in Stinkwater North of Pretoria. Afterwards, he began job hunting and did a lot of demeaning work to earn a living. Goodwill got a job of handling out pamphlets for a furniture shop. One day he noticed a lady handling pamphlets while singing, and he admired her style and began doing the same. Later on, he noticed that people gave him attention therefore he added dancing to singing. This marked the birth of the ‘Linga dance moves’ which consists of high kicks and energetic moves.
Career
As a result of the cheers he received, Goodwill took part at the Cultural Calabash competitions and won three years in a row from 1999 to 2001. Later on, he competed at the Voice of Choice competition and won a car. Afterwards, Dr Malinga was signed to Kalawa Jazmee.

In 2013 Dr Malinga tied the knot with Boitumelo Mosupye at a beautiful wedding. Seven years later, they are still together which proves that they have indeed fortified their love. Subsequently, the couple was blessed with a daughter named Victoria and a son called Tisesto. On the 11th of May 2020 the couple were further blessed with twin boys. However, his wife, Boitumelo, has a daughter from her past relationship who is called Busisiswe Ndlovu whom they also stay with.

In 2017, Dr Malinga was quite convinced that his hit ‘Akulaleki’ was the best song for 2016 and expected a Metro Music Award. However, an unfortunate turn of events saw Nasty C winning the award for Best single of the year. After loosing out, The Akulaleki hit maker got furious and asserted that Mabala Noise had bought awards that were won by their artists. He went on to insult Nasty C and tweeted, “Nasty C is like a pawn shop keeping things that do not belong to him.” The young rapper reacted by posting a video in which he dissed Dr Malinga saying he is 103 years old. Resultantly, Dr Malinga held the Lingas Entertainment Awards and gave himself the Best single of the year award.
