Themba Sekowe, popularly known as DJ Maphorisa, has taken issue with L-Tido’s recent comments on his podcast. L-Tido, the host of the L-Tido Podcast, invited Tumelo Zwane (Sir Trill) as a guest, and during the episode, Sir Trill discussed his frustrations and challenges within the music industry.
A central topic of conversation was the enigmatic figure referred to as “the Grootman.” Sir Trill has consistently claimed that this Grootman has hindered his music career by preventing collaborations with other artists, stifling his creative output.
In May, Sir Trill openly criticized gatekeepers in the amapiano music genre, accusing them of intentionally sabotaging his career. His lack of recent music releases, he explained, stems from feelings of discouragement.
DJ Maphorisa entered the fray by sharing conversations between himself and Sir Trill, accompanied by proof of payment. Maphorisa suggested that perhaps Sir Trill was referring to a different Grootman during the podcast, emphasizing that Sir Trill needs assistance.
However, tensions escalated when DJ Maphorisa directed harsh words at L-Tido. In response, L-Tido accused Maphorisa of cowardice, asserting that he had not spoken ill of him. Nota Baloyi also weighed in, warning L-Tido about perpetuating negative narratives.
