The family of the late musician Zahara is facing eviction and has resorted to auctioning her furniture. Zahara, whose real name was Bulelwa Mtukukana, passed away recently, and her family is now dealing with financial difficulties.
After failing to keep up with mortgage payments, Zahara’s family is selling her household items via WhatsApp to cover debts. The family had previously raised suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death and had filed a police report.
Zahara’s sister, who had moved into the house during Zahara’s hospitalization, is among those being evicted. Friends of the late Afropop star have expressed concern over the rapid sale of her belongings, fearing it disregards her legacy.
Musician Vusi Nova, who had offered support during Zahara’s funeral, was surprised to learn about the sale and plans to reach out to the family for clarification.
Zahara’s cousin and former manager confirmed he had been approached by clients about the furniture sale but stated he has stepped back from family affairs. Zahara’s widower has chosen not to comment on the situation.
