Siya Kolisi, the Springbok captain, has officially started his new rugby journey with the French club, Racing 92. He shared a video on Instagram on Thursday, where he met with President Laurent Travers and talked about his first impressions of the team.
“I feel honoured to be here; I have had a great time here. The boys and all the staff have been very friendly to me,” he said.
Kolisi also revealed that he would make his first appearance with the French team at the Paris La Défense Arena on 26 November. He had announced his departure from the Springboks earlier this year and explained some of his reasons for moving to France.
“The move to Racing 92 will allow me to spend more time with my family, which is something that I have always wanted, and this was a big factor in my decision… Not many athletes get the opportunity to write their own stories, and I see this new challenge in France as a chance to do that,” Kolisi said.
The 32-year-old experienced Springbok leader has been seen wearing the training kit of the Parisian club, Rugby Pass reported.
