Cape Town Spurs have acquired the services of the former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Surprise Ralani. Ralani has made a comeback to the Mother City, where he had previously showcased his skills before relocating to Chloorkop nearly two years ago.
Ralani’s departure from Cape Town City to join Sundowns in January 2021 was prompted by his impressive performances, leading to an 18-month contract. His initial year at Sundowns saw him getting ample playtime, but the last six months of his contract were less satisfactory.
Sundowns chose not to extend his contract when it expired in June 2023, as Rhulani Mokwena decided to steer the team in a new direction. The induction of players like Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Thapelo Maseko marked the conclusion of Ralani’s tenure at Sundowns.
At the age of 36, Ralani left Sundowns after participating in 29 competitive matches, scoring six goals and assisting three during his time there.
