The South African rap scene lost one of its brightest stars, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, eight months ago. He was shot dead outside a restaurant in February, shortly after celebrating his 35th birthday. His fans were devastated by his tragic death, but his family suffered the most.
His ex-girlfriend and the mother of his only child, Zinhle Jiyane, posted a heartbreaking message on Sunday about how she struggles to console their daughter Kairo when she longs for her dad. His family has been living in pain and grief for the past eight months without him.
DJ Zinhle, his former partner, revealed how difficult it is to see their daughter Kairo cry for her dad who is gone forever. “You will never understand the pain in my heart when my child is crying because she’s missing her dad. God help us,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories on Sunday 15 October.

She also posted a video of herself hugging Kairo tenderly. The post moved many people who felt sorry for Kairo who had a close bond with her father. Many of them expressed their sympathy and support for both the mother and the child.
Some people, however, criticized Zinhle for recording the emotional moment and accused her of seeking attention.
