Ami Faku is gearing up to release a new album after her Imali project in 2019. While the songstress has not released her own projects, she has maintained relevance in the music industry with features in the amapiano and hip-hop genres which became hit songs. Now she is ready to reintroduce herself to her fans with a fresh new sound.
Growth and Evolution
“I wonder how people are going to receive the fact that I’ve grown,” she said during her interview with Slikour. “People will love the music because it still comes from a real place. I feel like that’s what’s important. It’s all about the energy you receive and the beauty around it. I want people to also be open-minded and listen to everything. I hope they receive me well. This whole period of a break of some sort has been great in growing me, and I feel like I have something great to offer.”
Upcoming Performances
Ahead of the release of her project, Ami is booked and busy after being confirmed to take the stage at some of Africa’s biggest music events this year. Ami is set to perform live at the annual National Arts Festival on July 1 and 2 at the Guy Butler Auditorium in Makhanda.
The Asibe Happy hit maker has also been announced as one of the two South African supporting acts opening for international headliners Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild at the Grand West Arena in Cape Town on July 27 and the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on July 29.
Ami is one of the local artists set to perform at the Rocking The Daisies festival in Cape Town from October 6 to 8. Beyond the borders of Mzansi, Ami will grace the stage at the Jacaranda Music Festival at the Old Hararians Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe, which was dubbed one of Harare’s best music festivals.
