The July 31 march organiser and opposition leader Jacob Ngarivhume has come under fire for not calling for the end of the Zanu PF rule. #ZanuPFMustGo has been at the centre of the social media campaign in Zimbabwe and people expected Ngarivhume as the initiator of the march to denounce the ruling party.
Zimbabweans started to become skeptical of Ngarivhume after he was pictured with Linda Masarira, a well known Zanu PF apologist. Masarira in her Tweet after meeting Ngarivhume, did not denounce Zanu PF as expected but took a swipe at councils, most of them run by Zimbabwe’s largest opposition Zanu PF.

“It’s time Zimbabweans took the fight against corruption to their own homes, villages, communities, wards, districts and provinces. It’s time we root out corrupt office bearers and demand accountability from traditional leaders, council & government,” she posted
Tweeps have scanned all of Jacob Ngarivhume’s Twitter posts and they have not seen a hashtag #ZanuPFMustGo which is currently trending on Twitter and which is believed by many to be the agenda of the march – to put and end to Zanu PF rule.
Ngarivhume, who suggested the July 31 demonstration to Zimbabweans, shot a video of himself setting the agenda of the protest recently.

So Zimbabwe come together and converge together against one thing, corruption. There should be no violence. This will be peaceful,” Ngarivhume said.

Some people accused politicians and civil society leaders involved in planning the demonstration of being insincere. Ngarivhume has been accused to be a Zanu PF proxy and Masarira a Zanu PF agent who supported the shooting of citizens by the army and lied under oat during the Motlanthe commission of inquiry. Some also accused former Zanu PF youth leader Godfrey Tsenengamu of being Zanu pf by birth and blood and Pastor Shingi Munyeza for not being genuine as he is still the president’s advisor despite his rants against him.
