He is close friends with Teddy, who was legally adopted by Gladys into their family and lives with them whenever his mother turns to alcoholism.
On the other hand, Teddy’s role is the son of Don Buthelezi and Zodwa; he grew up with an absent father who left his mother for a wealthy woman. Teddy is a slow learner born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Growing up with a single mother who abandoned him gave Teddy the resilience he has today; he appreciates love and positivity in his life. Unlike spoilt Ntokozo, Teddy is willing to do anything legal to put food on the table.
