Fleeing from coronavirus
People believe by going rural, they are fleeing from the urban areas that are believed to have a higher concentration of coronavirus. Self distancing is natural in the rural areas. Houses are spaced. Since the major cause of the outbreak of coronavirus are people who travelled overseas, most of the travellers reside in urban areas and rarely visit the country side
A cheaper life to live
Most people in Harare live from hand to mouth. They do not have meaningful savings. Rural life is cheap. Peasants in the country side grow crops and rear animals for consumption. Life in rural areas is relatively cheap.
